What are BundleSocial OAuth Flags?

When connecting social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.) through Tycoon's BundleSocial integration, the system automatically applies platform-specific OAuth flags to ensure a smooth connection experience.

What each flag does

FlagApplied toPurpose
disableAutoLoginInstagram, Facebook, TikTokPrevents BundleSocial from using a cached session — required because cached sessions cause auth failures on these platforms.
forceBrowserOAuthInstagram onlyForces the OAuth flow to open in a full browser window instead of an embedded webview — required because Instagram's OAuth needs a full browser context.

For other platforms (Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Reddit, Discord) — no special flags are needed. The standard OAuth flow works without them.

Why this matters to you

You don't need to do anything — the flags are applied automatically. When you click "Connect" for Instagram, the system knows to disable auto-login and force a browser window. For Facebook, it disables auto-login. For Twitter, it uses the standard flow. Everything just works.

FAQ

Q: Do I need to configure these flags myself? A: No. They're applied automatically based on which platform you're connecting.

Q: Why does Instagram require special handling? A: Instagram's OAuth implementation requires a full browser context and doesn't work with cached sessions. The flags ensure a reliable connection every time.

Q: What if my connection still fails? A: Try reconnecting. If the issue persists, ask Astra to investigate. Common causes: expired tokens, changed passwords, or permission changes on the social platform side.
