What's happening A task eventually finished, but it ran much longer than the rough estimates in response times — long enough that the chairman noticed and is wondering if something's off.
Why it happens
- The brief was open-ended and the teammate did more thorough work than expected (deep research, multi-pass writing, several rounds of self-review).
- A connector the teammate uses was slow today, and every step had to wait.
- The teammate broke the work into many small steps because the brief asked for several deliverables in one task.
- The work genuinely needed that long — not all tasks fit the rough estimates.
What to do
- Skim the task thread end-to-end — the teammate posts in-thread updates when something is taking longer, so the reason is usually visible.
- If the next similar task should be faster, narrow the brief: ask for one deliverable per task instead of three, and say "skip deep research, use what you already know."
- If a connector is consistently slow, reconnect it under Settings → Connectors — a fresh connection sometimes restores normal speed.
- If the same kind of task keeps running long, message Astra with the task link and she'll dig into the pattern.
- If none of this works, message Astra and she'll loop in support.
