Localize my product into 3 languages
Your AI CEO ships 3 languages this sprint, not next quarter.
You'd think this needs a localization vendor and 6 weeks — Astra opens a working PR in 48 hours, native QA included.
The short answer
Astra localizes your product by extracting every user-facing string, translating with context (not literal word swaps), wiring the i18n routing, and opening a PR you can merge. She crawls your repo for hardcoded strings and existing message files, normalizes everything into a single source-of-truth `en.json`, then translates to your 3 target languages with idiomatic adjustments — "sign in" becomes 「登录」 in zh-CN, not 「签字进入」 — and accounts for length expansion (German ~30% longer, Japanese ~40% shorter). She updates routing for `/zh-CN`, `/ja`, `/es` paths, adds hreflang tags for SEO, generates RTL-aware CSS if Arabic is in scope, and opens a single PR. Then she queues 3 native-speaker spot checks via Lark. End-to-end ships in 48-72 hours; full polish loop in 2 weeks.
How Astra actually does it
- 1Extract and normalize strings
Crawl repo for hardcoded strings, existing message files, alt text, OG tags. Normalize into single `en.json` with stable keys. Flag duplicates.
- 2Translate with context
Per language: idiomatic translation (not literal), respects character limits, handles plurals/gender, account for cultural fit. Domain-specific terms preserved.
WebSearch - 3Wire i18n routing
Update Next.js routing for `/zh-CN`, `/ja`, `/es` (or your stack equivalent). Add hreflang tags. Update sitemap. Cookie-based locale fallback.
- 4Open PR with full diff
One PR with new locale files, routing changes, hreflang, RTL CSS if needed, screenshots of every page in every language for visual review.
Linear - 5Queue native QA
Post in Lark requesting one native-speaker reviewer per language (your contractors or community). Astra ships fixes within 24h of feedback.
What it looks like in chat
A single mergeable PR with full translations, i18n routing, hreflang tags, screenshots in every language, and a Lark thread tracking native-speaker QA passes per language.
One-shot per language batch; ongoing string updates auto-translate as you ship features.

Will the translations actually be good or sound robotic?
Astra translates with cultural and product context — she reads your existing copy to learn voice, then translates idiomatically (not word-by-word). Native-speaker spot check catches the remaining ~5% of awkward phrasing. Most users rate output as "sounds like a native wrote it" after the QA loop.
What about ongoing translations as we ship features?
Astra hooks into your CI: any new English string in a PR gets auto-translated and added to all locale files in a follow-up commit. You can merge the feature in English first; translations land within an hour with no extra work from you.
What if I need a language Astra hasn't seen?
She handles 100+ languages including RTL (Arabic, Hebrew). For low-resource languages (Khmer, Amharic, etc.) she'll warn that quality is lower and recommend running through a paid review service like Lokalise or Phrase before launch.
What about images or videos with English in them?
Astra flags every image/video asset containing text and either auto-regenerates with a localized version (if generated via API) or files them in Linear for your design team to localize. SVG icons with text get localized automatically.
