Frequently asked questions
Clear answers about wallet credit, usage, subscriptions, and how Tycoon charges for work.
Does Tycoon do call recording and analysis like Gong?
Not natively at Gong's depth. The AI Head of Sales role in Tycoon can handle a transcript you provide — pull objections, suggest follow-ups, draft next-step emails. What it cannot do is automatically join every Zoom call, transcribe, score the rep, tag objections, and aggregate patterns across 10,000 calls. That's Gong's purpose-built core and we're not trying to replicate it. If you need real conversation intelligence, use Gong.
Can Tycoon replace Gong for a solo founder selling?
For a solo founder doing under 20 sales calls a month, basically yes. The AI Head of Sales can prep you before calls (research the account), summarize calls from transcripts you paste, write follow-ups, update your CRM, and flag deals that look stuck. You won't get Gong's automatic recording and pattern analysis, but at 20 calls a month that machinery is overkill. Once you're past 100 calls a month with multiple reps, Gong starts earning its cost.
What does Gong actually cost?
Gong is enterprise-priced and not public — common data points are $1,600+ per user per year plus a platform fee, with implementation. A 10-rep sales team typically pays $25K-$75K annually. Contracts are negotiated with procurement. Tycoon is usage-based, $50-$500 per month for the full AI team. Different category, different price point.
Can the AI Head of Sales in Tycoon do outbound?
Yes. The AI Head of Sales can build a target list, enrich contacts via connectors (Apollo, Hunter, LinkedIn-adjacent tools), draft personalized outbound emails, schedule send, and follow up on a cadence. Gong doesn't do outbound — that's tools like Outreach or Apollo. So there's no overlap at all on prospecting and send; the overlap is only in 'what did you learn from the meetings that happened'.
Should I use both?
Eventually, if you scale. A realistic arc: start with Tycoon pre-revenue (AI Head of Sales does outbound and handles your calls). Hit some traction, hire 2-3 human AEs, now Tycoon still runs marketing + ops + finance, and you add Gong to give the humans call intelligence. They solve different problems so they stack fine.
