Frequently asked questions
Clear answers about wallet credit, usage, subscriptions, and how Tycoon charges for work.
Is Cognigy a Tycoon competitor?
Not really — maybe 3% overlap. Cognigy is the enterprise conversational AI platform for contact centers, with Fortune 500 customers like Lufthansa and Toyota, voice + chat unified, 100+ language support, and deep telephony integration (Genesys, Avaya, Cisco). Tycoon is a pre-hired AI team for founders running a whole company. If your problem is 'we handle a million calls a year and need voice AI deflection', Cognigy. If your problem is 'I'm one person trying to run a company', Tycoon.
Can Tycoon handle inbound customer calls like Cognigy?
Not natively at Cognigy's depth. Cognigy has purpose-built voice AI with telephony integration, barge-in handling, voice cloning, DTMF fallback, hand-off to live agents, and enterprise-grade audio quality engineering. Tycoon's AI Head of Support handles text-based support (email, chat, ticketing) well. For voice, it's not our product. Founders running a support queue that's 95% text find Tycoon sufficient; anyone running a real call center needs Cognigy or similar.
What does Cognigy cost?
Cognigy is enterprise-priced and not public — typical contracts are in the 6-7 figure annual range, depending on interaction volume, channels (voice vs chat), languages, and deployment model (cloud vs on-prem). Implementation and professional services are separate line items. Tycoon is $50-$500 per month usage-based. Not remotely the same category — Cognigy is a procurement-level enterprise buy.
Why is Cognigy strong in Europe?
Cognigy is headquartered in Düsseldorf, Germany. It was built GDPR-first with strong data residency options and European enterprise procurement in mind. It's the natural incumbent for European enterprises who want AI that understands local compliance expectations — DAX companies, European airlines, manufacturing. If your company is European and regulated, Cognigy has more credibility with procurement than US-based alternatives.
Should I use both?
Rarely, because the company scales are very different. Cognigy customers are typically 10,000+ employees with contact centers. Tycoon customers are typically 1-20 people running a whole company. The realistic dual-stack scenario: a growing SaaS hits $100M ARR, support volume explodes, the CX team adopts Cognigy for voice + chat deflection, while marketing and ops continue using Tycoon as an AI team for parallel work. Most users pick one based on stage.
