Some routines pause on their own. When that happens, the routine row on its Outcome now shows a plain-language reason and a next step, so you can fix it yourself instead of guessing.

A routine is the schedule that supports an Outcome Task. If the link between the routine and its Outcome breaks, the platform pauses the routine automatically rather than run it against nothing. You'll see one of these reasons:

- **No linked Outcome** — the routine lost its Outcome. Open the Outcome you want it to support and re-create the routine there.
- **Outcome deleted** — the Outcome it tracked is gone. Archive the routine, or add a new one on the Outcome you want to monitor.
- **Linked to a sub-task** — routines only run against top-level Outcomes. Re-link it to the parent Outcome to resume.
- **Outcome archived** — restore the Outcome first, then resume the routine.
- **Outcome has no Success Brief** — add a Success Brief (a defined goal) to the Outcome, then resume.

For the first three, resuming is blocked until you resolve the next step; the toggle won't restart it on its own. For the last two, fix the Outcome and use the **Repeat** controls on the Outcome to resume.
