**What is the Referral System?**

Share your unique referral link and both you and the person you refer get **$10 in free credits** when they sign up. It's the fastest way to earn extra credits and grow your Tycoon-powered company.

**How referrals work**

1. Your workspace has a unique 7-character referral code (e.g., `abc1234`).
2. Share your link: `https://tycoon.us/r/abc1234`
3. When someone clicks your link and signs up, both of you receive **$10 in credits** — instantly.
4. You can customize your code once (Settings → Referrals).

**Invite Codes**

Invite codes are separate, campaign-specific codes that give new users a configurable bonus (default $5). Use these for talks, events, or marketing campaigns. Each code can have its own bonus amount and expiration date.

**What happens when someone uses my link?**

They'll see a welcome popup with your name and the $10 bonus offer. After they sign up, credits are added automatically. You'll get $10 in your wallet; they'll get $10 in theirs — plus the standard $10 welcome credit.

> `Settings → Referrals` to view or customize your code.
> **Your link:** `https://tycoon.us/r/<your-code>`

### FAQ

**Q: Can I customize my referral code?**
A: Yes. You can change it once to something more memorable (3-32 characters, letters/numbers/hyphens only).

**Q: Is there a limit on referrals?**
A: No. Every successful referral earns both parties $10. No caps.

**Q: What prevents abuse?**
A: Self-referrals are blocked. Each person can only use one referral code. Redemptions are audited and deduplicated.

**Q: What's the difference between referral codes and invite codes?**
A: Referral codes are personal (one per user), earn $10 for both sides, and are shared peer-to-peer. Invite codes are campaign-specific, can have custom bonus amounts and expiration dates, and are typically shared at events or in marketing.
